The Role

We are looking for a Senior underwriter to join our in-house insurance team and help enhance and expand our global underwriting capabilities across various insurance lines of business (including Accident, Health, Liability, Motor….).

You will be joining a team of professionals that include insurance directors and senior underwriting specialists from some of the biggest names in insurance and the largest global gig platforms.

In addition to in-house functions, you will be working with top tier insurance companies, Lloyd’s of London and specialist insurers to develop products under delegated underwriting authority arrangements.

You will have access to a range of in-house stakeholders across Pricing, Claims, Technology (Engineering), Sales, Customer Success, Marketing and Social Impact to deliver key underwriting initiatives.

You will have access to a growing warehouse of rich policy, exposure, premium and claims data to manage underwriting performance and glean insights in conjunction with the Pricing and Analytics team.

Your Responsibilities:

• Understanding the local market and social benefits standards in tailoring country specific insurance coverages.

• Case underwriting to analyze risk submissions and work with the Pricing team to craft underwriting proposals/referrals for insurance partners.
• Draft bespoke wording for complex insurance programs to help build strategic relationships with clients;
• Maintain and upgrade library of insurance documentation across product lines including Accident & Health, Liability, Motor, Health Gadget etc…
• Supporting the Sales and Account Management teams on technical insurance queries to help drive value for clients.

Requirements:

You’ll need:

✅ A desire to innovate in the insure-tech space by leveraging technical underwriting and digital capabilities to enhance and expand worker benefits

✅ Experience of working within a general insurer, MGA or insurance broker (preferably within Accident & Health and/or Liability)

✅ Proven ability to work in tandem with pricing actuarial teams in delivering insurance solutions

✅ An in-depth understanding of the make-up of policy wordings, clauses and non-standard covers available and their implications with an ability to convey that understanding

✅ Experience in underwriting classes of non-standard/special risks that are default restricted under underwriting authority / guidelines.
