The Role

You'll help accelerate Collective’s growth and expansion by providing the strategic, legal and commercial expertise to enable us to scale our business upon robust and compliant foundations.

What will you be doing?

• You’ll contribute to Collective’s growth by both helping solve regulatory constraints to enable speed to international markets as well as helping bring new products (financial and non-financial) to market.

• You’ll contribute to our commercial growth, leading and managing deals, negotiations and contractual agreements.

• You’ll build robust foundations to ensure legal and regulatory compliance across financial service regulation, data protection and information management.

• You’ll get involved in future corporate transactions like fundraising and acquisitions.

• You’ll lead the company secretariat function both in the UK and overseas.

• You’ll ensure that our legal operations run smoothly including contractual and document management.

• You'll build, manage and mentor a team to help you deliver, including external legal support.

Requirements

You should join us if you’re:

• A commercial and pragmatic lawyer not a black letter lawyer.

• A strong negotiator, with the ability to see the big picture.

• Relentless with a hunger to achieve and a bias for action

• Excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills

• Comfortable operating on the perimeter of regulation but zero tolerance for crossing it

• Able to deliver in ambiguity short term whilst building structure for the long term.

You’ll need:

• A UK qualified or equivalent solicitor, preferably with prior experience in-house.

• Substantial experience in financial services regulation and/or insurtech, including operating across international markets.

• Experience in negotiating and concluding commercial partnerships who can get deals done and over the line.

• Broader legal experience including commercial, corporate, information and venture funding.

• Experience of SaaS platform licensing is helpful but not essential.
